It's no secret that the vast majority of Pennsylvania's forests—more than 70%—are privately owned. Because forests are a renewable resource, it's important that forest landowners manage their forests in a sustainable manner. This means following best practices when it comes to things like harvesting timber, constructing roads, and preventing/ controlling invasive species.
As a helpful resource, PennState Extension has compiled a list of Partners for Sustainable Forests who are committed to partnering with landowners to maintain healthy, sustainable forests.
